How to Fix a Broken Screen on Your iPad?
There are very few things that will cause you greater heartbreak than your cracked iPad or smart phone screen. Though the glass used on your iPad is pretty strong, it is never too strong to survive some of the nasty and accidental drops. And the heartbreak is even greater if you saw your tablet’s screen cracked. Perhaps larger screens make it more painful. If you own Apple’s iPad2 and it was a victim of a recent accident, you may have to shell out a hefty amount for iPad screen repairs. But in case you are capable of sourcing good parts at a reasonable price from an iPad screen repair store, saving some money is not very tough and you can get the cracked screen of your iPad fixed within minutes.
However, you should also remember that in case you are a novice and do not have much knowledge about iPad screen repairs, you should not consider trying to get the problem fixed all by yourself and must take it to a reputed repair store. This is because, in case you make just one wrong move, your iPad can become entirely useless. Attempting iPad screen repairs yourself can also nullify the warranty of your device.
Fixing a broken screen
If you are going ahead with fixing your iPad on your own, make sure you use a pair of safety goggle to protect your eyes from glass pieces. Position your iPad vertically before you. You need to heat and cut through quite a great amount of glue, so kick start the procedure by using a heat gun to warm the right side of your iPad. The heat gun should be at a low setting and should be used for 10 to 20 seconds only, else the bezel might melt. You need a disposable steel razor to use between the glass and the frame. When the razor is in the right position it should make its way till the frame and pry up the cracked glass gently in the process of doing so. Be careful of not cutting the iPad camera cabling when you are working with the razor. The entire iPad screen repair procedure should be performed very cautiously.
After prying off the cracked glass, it should be kept connected to your iPad. The four screws that hold the display in its proper place should then be removed. Following that you can remove the display and both the connectors that were attached to the cracked glass.
Your next step would be to recover the camera module of your iPad as well as the home button and thereafter get them swapped over the new glass. Finally it is time for you to say adieu to your broken iPad screen and put in the new glass. There are good vendors in the market from whom you can procure proper replacement glass for your iPad.
